Please be advised that in the 4th quarter of year 2008 Vietnam Numbering Plan will be changed the extension of fix subscriber numbers by addition of a digit in front of the existing subscriber number and the special numbering change of Hanoi Capital, because it was expanded itself territory on 1st August 2008 according to Vietnamese Government approval. Preliminary information have sent to Mr. Malcolm Johnson-Director of TSB-ITU by Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on 25, August, 2008.

According to Decision No. 2217/QD-TTBH dated August 20, 2008 of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) concerning the issuance of outgoing international voice services.
As of September 1, VTI reduces international IDD & Call 171 service as follow.

The satellite was launched from French Guiana at about 7:15 p.m. local time yesterday (5:15 a.m. Vietnam time today). Vinasat-1, a 2.6-ton craft built by U.S. firm Lockheed Martin for the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), is the country?s first telecommunications satellite, providing radio, television and telephone services across the country.

The contract stipulates that Bao Viet and PTI will insure any damages to Vinasat during the launching process and its time in orbit. In addition, the two insurers will provide VNPT with supportive services such as risk management training.
